Frequently Asked Questions....

  1. I attended Roosevelt but did not graduate there.  Can I still register?
Of Course!  However, do enter the graduation year as if you finished at Roosevelt, not the year you left.  That way you will be properly grouped with your peers.
Faculty and Parents are also encouraged to register!
  2. How do I register?
    Click on the Roster link.
At the left you will see an icon that says "Register On-line NOW".  Click on this link to our registration page.   A few fields are required.   Most are optional.
  3. What sort of information should I put out there?
As much or as little as you like.  We do require a graduation year and an email address.  If you don't have email please put out an address or phone number so we can locate you!
  4. I don't mind your having my address but I don't want the whole world to see it!
Our latest functionality includes the ability to flag key demographic information as "Display on Line, Yes or No".  You can therefore provide us information about phone numbers, mailing addresses, etc. but still block them from being seen online.  For example, many people limit the displayed information to an email address.  Note:  Now that we require a password to access the Roster displays, there is far less chance of your information being exploited by packages that search the web for email addresses.
  5. Can I register other alumni for whom I have address information?
Yes. However, I recommend setting the Publish Information flags to No unless you have their permission to put demographic data out on the web.
  6. How can I look up a classmate?
I refer you again to the Roster link.  You first have to sign in, which requires a password.  If you previously registered but cannot remember your password use the "Need Help with Login information" link to request the information.   Once logged in you can use the links provided to search by Name, Graduation Year, City, State or Country.   The system builds a list of matching records and you can then click on an individual's name to see more information.
  7. What if my classmate is not listed?
We are trying to keep the alumni roster down to just those people we have information on.  With the list already approaching 3500 we do not want to load out every graduate's name.  While some people have loaded out all their classmates' names we discourage this since it takes up disk space.
  8. I found my classmate but there is little or no information listed.
Send me an email.  They may have the "Publish Information" flags set to No.  I can contact them and have them contact you.
  9. If someone is not listed how can I find them?
Click on the Links link and you will find links to several search utilities and web sites that might be used to track down someone.  I've had some success with YellowPages and College Alumni Offices.  Don't give up, Tracking down old friends is what makes it fun!
  10. Can I post comments or questions?
Yes.  We have a Forum for just such input.
The forum is managed with a free program that we have installed at the site, titled phpBB.  You will need to register within that program to post comments.  The user ID and password for phpBB is different from the one you use to view Roster information or post photos.
  11. What about Class Reunions?
The Events link takes you to a list of known activities. If you are organizing a reunion drop me a note and I will update this page.
  12. I want to send a note to all my classmates
When you register at the site your name and email address are automatically added to a mailing list for your class.  You can remove yourself from the list by editing your profile.   In the Roster by Class display you will see a link that says "Send A Message to your Classmates".   This link takes you to a mail form.   Fill in your message and an email will be sent to all members of your class.
  13. Can I send in photos?
Yes.  Photos from reunions, etc. are always welcome.  Please send a caption detailing who is in the photo.  The system also supports attaching "before" and "after" photos to the alumnus' record.  The "before" picture is usually the graduation photo out of the Chasqui while the "after" is a current day view into how you "evolved".  Volunteers are helping to scan in the "before" images which will be load
ed out over time. To upload the photos visit the Photos Section.  We use PhotoPost software to display the photos and it has an upload function you can use to send your photos.
Unfortunately you will need a separate user ID and password to use the PhotoPost upload function.   Someday we hope to get the site using one single sign-on for all fuctions.
  14. How can I help?
While we have no formal dues, contributions are always accepted and help defer the costs of maintaining the site.  For detail information click on Helping Support the Site on the site's home page.
